Pierre André Prévost de La Prévostière was Governor General of Pondicherry. At his time the main interests of the France was only commercial rather than political. So, no significant events occurred during his tenure. His Successor, Pierre Christoph Le Noir was a very able governor and actual development of Pondicherry started from him.
